50 प्रतिशत फ्लेट रॉयल्टी से हमारा अभिप्राय है कि लेखक को उसकी पुस्तक की बिक्री के फलस्वरूप प्राप्त होने वाली संपूर्ण धनराशि जो कि पुस्तक के बिक्री मूल्य, न की पुस्तक का अधिकतम खुदरा मूल्य से प्राप्त होती है जो प्रकाशन के संपूर्ण खर्चे (पुस्तक के शिपिंग, पैकिंग तथा अन्य प्रकार के खर्चे शामिल) को आधा-आधा काटकर अर्थात खर्चे को काटकर प्राप्त होने वाली धनराशि समझी जाये।
अन्य शब्दों में उदाहरण के तौर पर
यदि किसी पुस्तक का खुदरा मूल्य 250 रू. है जिसे हमारी और आपकी सहमति से 200 रू. बिक्री के लिए रखा गया है। पुस्तक की बिक्री हुई। 200 रू. प्राप्त हुए, पुस्तक को उपयोगकर्ता के यहां भेजने में लगा खर्च माना कि 20 रू. है जो मूल धन 180 रू. हुआ जिसे बराबर दो भागों में बांटा गया एक भाग 90 रू. प्रकाशक/सेलर तथा दूसरा भाग 90/- रू. लेखक का है।
Meaning of 50 percent royalty
By 50 percent flat royalty, we mean that the entire amount that the author receives as a result of the sale of his book, which is the selling price of the book, and not the maximum retail price of the book, which is the entire cost of publishing (shipping of the book, Packing and other types of expenses included) should be considered as the amount received by cutting it in half i.e. after deducting the expenses.
In other words, for example
If the retail price of a book is Rs 250. Which is given with our and your consent for Rs 200. Has been put up for sale. The book was sold. Rs 200 Received, the cost of sending the book to the user is assumed to be Rs 20. Which is the principal amount of Rs 180. Which was divided into two equal parts, one part costing Rs 90. for Publisher/Seller and second part Rs.90/-. It is for author.
